The Style Spot is all about fashion and style, so I’m assuming that one of our favourite things in the new season of spring is exploring the trends, investing in some essentials and refilling our wardrobes with new clothes, shoes, accessories and maybe even a bikini or two.
If you’ve been eyeing out the past months fashion spreads and designers look books, you’ll know that this spring colour is huge, neutrals are still here, stripes are bolder, polka dots are coming back in many dotty forms, accessories have become more varied, shoes are a constant statement and basically, as long as you give an outfit your own personal touch, anything goes.
Here’s what I will be on the hunt for in the next few weeks…
A Casual Wedge – The ideal shoe for a daytime shopping trip, lunch with friends or a family occasion, they are comfortable to walk for hours in without the pain! Go for a classic wooden, a braided rope or twine or the most comfy, a cork wedge. The colours this season seem to be neutrals, creams, tans and taupe as well as those with a bit of texture or with a statement colour.
Wittner Lindt Wedge
The Versatile Shorts – The ease of shorts always work in our favour, when a skirt is no good go for a pair of shorts in a worn denim, toned down neutrals, complimenting brights, leather for day or night, prints with an edge, classic and crisp whites, a feminine pleat or a safari inspired style.
Stylestalker Monroe Shorts
Anything Tangerine – This colour is literally everywhere this spring, I’m certain you will have no problem finding something tangerine that catches your eye. Be it a skirt, blazer, caftan, neckpiece or an amazing pair of shoes, wherever you shop there will be tangerine.
Sass & Bide Tipping Point Blazer
Relaxed Jumpsuit – One of the most comfortable and chic pieces that every lady should own. A jumpsuit is classy and practical, stylish and flattering if you pick the right fit. It will take you from weekday to weekend, day to night, dressed up or down. Go for a 70’s inspired strapless style with a cut out on the front, drawn in at the waist and a flare as large as you wish to fall down your legs, along with a pair of heels and simple accessories, you will look beyond stunning.
Shona Joy Downtown Jumpsuit
An Easy Bucket Bag – The perfect size day bag to carry the essentials and still be on-trend, this will take you all year round and be one of the favourites among your bags. Alexander Wang has one incredible design for us this season, and you know if he’s designed a bucket bag, it’s not long until you will have one hanging from your shoulder too.
