Passionate Pink...

Love this hot pink fitted dress by designer Michael Kors... I believe that everyone should wear more colour and this is the perfect dress to take you from day to night!! Love it!!

A couple of weeks back, I found this amazing accessory label called from St Xavier.

The collection is full of coloured stones and worn looking metal, mostly in gold. There are loads of crystal studded cuffs of amethyst, black onyx and many more! My kind of accessory. You can also find some crystal filled neck-plates and rings to go style up any outfit!

I sourced these for a filming session of "The Living Room" for Amanda Keller to wear. You may have seen them on the show, but here are a few I took before taking them off to the studio.

LESSONS LEARNT

This is just a little something I felt like writing...

For those of you who don't know, I have been styling fashion for the past two and a bit years. Before that I interned and worked at various fashion companies and have put my heart and soul into everything I do. I absolutely LOVE my work, the good and the bad bits to it.

This industry is a mixed up one for sure. It is hard to break into and surely a challenge. Probably more so than any other. And as weird as it is for me to say, I actually really like this. Sometimes I wonder if the industry wasn't so different, up and down, full of chasing something, making a contact that you must make, finalising a great job that happens to be a rare gig, dealing with such a variety of people all in different roles and of different egos and always going through some sort of change, I wonder if I would be so into it? It's not just about the shoes and the clothes. It's about business and people and creating something special with fashion. And the feeling of an exciting job or new challenge, making another group of great contacts and seeing a vision come to life, playing a great part (and the most fun part) of that vision of a job is SUCH an accomplishing feeling.

This past year has been my biggest, business-wise. I have gained more work that I am enjoying, have met lots of interesting people with great experiences and am feeling so happy about where I am and what I am doing. I have learnt to be assertive when it comes to my work, share my ideas and create some really cool things. Most of all, I have learnt to block out the negatives and go for what I want.

I have so much creativity going through my mind and the business skills to go with it. I feel some good things coming...

SO FAR

I have been really busy this week working on a brief for David Jones! Early morning starts and late afternoon finishes have required my most comfortable ensembles. Of course, I still wanted to look the part!

So, the past two days this is what I have been styling myself up in...

Monday - some light neon (that is hard to see on the computer), the bluest denim and some stripes.

Top - Minkpink

Jacket - Zara

Dress - Sportsgirl

Tuesday - I am absolutely in love with these jeans! I just want to wear them continuously. I styled them with simple silver accessories and a blue top.

Do It Yourself - STUDS

Stud Yourself Silly..

Why pay more for fashion when you can do it yourself and feel the creative reward.. I decided to buy some do-it-yourself studs and collar tips off Ebay this week, as I have loads of plain shirts/tshirts/dresses I can easily customise.. The studs and collar tips cost me around £5 for over a 100 pieces, which is alot less than paying for a garment with the studs already in place!! It's a great way of customising your own things and you get to decide where you would like the studs to be, so you can create your own simple or more extravagant designs.. I particularly like studs on bags at the moment and I have a little denim number from American Apparel that I'm going stud up next!! :)

Leeds Festival This Weekend... What To Wear??

Leeds Festival Virgin...

I can't wait to go to Leeds Festival this weekend.. It's my first ever time at the festival and I've heard a lot of crazy stories of just how "Rock N Roll" it can be.. My boyfriend and I love The Black Keys, so we're really excited to kick off the weekend with them on the Friday and to see The Cure who we were lucky enough to see last month at Optimus Alive festival in Portugal. They did a whopping 3 hour set of all their classics and we lurrrvvvvveed it!!

Not forgetting to plan my festival wardrobe this time after my disaster last weekend.. Here are a few of my favourites festival must haves below... Wonder if I'll need my wellies this time?!
