RE-STYLE

I have had these Billini wedges for years and have only just started to wear them more often. So lately, I have worn them with lots of different outfits that I wouldn't have worn a few years ago and am making some use of them! With the nude colour that they are and the lace up front, they look great casually worn with a colourful or white textured dress and equally as great with a pair of printed pants. They are the shoe you wear when your outfit is the one wanting the attention.

LAKE HAVEN

This week has been all about styling with Lake Haven Shopping Center on the Central Coast of NSW. We have done a couple of events with the men, women, couples, cousins, sisters, mother and daughters all involved and styled in the local retailers. We had the "Real Women of Lake Haven" fashion parade yesterday with lots of beautiful women of all ages, shapes, sizes and colours up on the stage and it has been absolutely great!

Aside from the fashion events and parades, we have styled up the local women and assisted them in finding their perfect fits, colours and ways to work their personal style when shopping for their wardrobe. We have met lots of great people who now know their actual body shade, their cool/warm colour tone and which colours work best and showed them how to shop it with my super-shopping! So many nice people to meet in such a short period of time makes this all so fun and interesting for us.

Coloured denim, printed pants, block coloured staples and loads of printed tops with flattering silhouettes are where spring and summer is headed this year. Find yourself some!

A structured and block coloured dress is a great staple and can so easily be styled up or down, depending completely on where you choose to wear it. Layer it with a striped blazer with a great shape, wear it open to create a streamlined effect and add visual length to your shape. The simple black and white stripe will also make your block colour pop as it should!

This is such an ideal print to have in a top, or if you would prefer, equally as good in a pant or skirt as long as the shape is right for you. The colours are great and will flatter a cooler toned person and the print is effective enough to wear with just about anything!

I had lots of fun the past couple of days and really enjoyed this event up at Lake Haven. I hope to do more! Style sessions and shopping trips have tired me out, so I am off to bed now - I have an interview with Sydney Morning Herald tomorrow morning so I need to be fresh!

Enjoy the weekend!

OPA DESIGNS

If you read this blog regularly you will know that I absolutely love accessories. Many of my posts feature loads of really cool pieces that I come across when sourcing or styling a look.

Recently on "The Living Room" we styled Amanda Keller in a beautiful turquoise, beaded chain which we wrapped around a couple of times and made into somewhat of a chocker-style necklace. This was one of my favourite pieces from Sydney based brand, Opa Designs

Opa Designs are full of various, fun, fashion forward and affordable pieces that are made to compliment loads of different outfits and personal styles.

With the new season beginning and fashion dominated by all sorts of bright and pastel colour palettes, mixed prints, these acccessories are sure to be great for the next few months of hot and sunny weather!

Move away from the darker shades of last season and start adding some accessories that will brighten up your collection and keep your relaxed outfits for the warmer months looking lifted and fresh. Add some Opa Designs of turquoise, greens, soft browns, silver and pearly shades to your outfit to do just this!

Visit the Opa Designs website to shop the current collections - http://www.opadesigns.com.au/

NYFW Marc by Marc Jacobs...

Up to the Marc by Marc Jacobs...

When I think of my perfect Summer I think of the bohemian setting I have experienced so many times in Ibiza, maybe it's because I've spent so much time there over the last few years and it's where I feel most relaxed in my own styling.. Floaty, care free and relaxed are three words that I would use to best describe it and it's those same words I would use for the Marc by Marc Jacobs show at New York Fashion Week...

With printed scarves wrapped around the head and waist and a mix of tropical colours including hot pink and bright orange, the looks were relaxed with soft layering in textures and prints.. I also loved the ankle strap shoes teamed with grey marl socks, giving it a unique traveller feel..

After watching some of the shows, it looks like red, pink and orange are the colours to watch for S/S '13 and I'm already excited to be wearing more of these colour next year..

Here are some of my best choices and the whole collection can be viewed here at Vogue

Victoria Beckham New York fashion Week..

Victoria Beckham Strikes Again At New York Fashion Week...

I couldn't wait to get home today to read the NYFW highlights and I was left feeling happy and excited after reading about Victoria Beckham's show. I'd seen a few things on Twitter about it, but it was definitely one of my favourite shows to date at NYFW.. I completely fell in LOVE with some of Victoria's designs, especially the matching two-piece suit with flippy skirt and her bold coloured shift dress with nude gladiator boots.. Right up my street because they are stylish and very wearable!! Victoria also produced some of her statement pencil dresses with cute pointy collars and double mesh straps..

As always, here are some of my favourite pieces but please do check out her full collection at Vogue

Even if you're not a big Victoria fan, I think you will be pleasantly surprised by her collection..

After Dark - It's All About ChloBo...

ChloBo Jewellery...

It's fair to say that ChloBo jewellery has definitely been 'one to watch' this year.. The founder of ChloBo, Miss Chloe Moss is a lovely lady friend that I've known for quite a few years now and running a business myself, I know just how hard it can be to develop a passion into a dream..

It's really nice to see just how much ChloBo has developed over the past year or so.. With a variety of ChloBo's products  featuring in all the top fashion mags from Look Magazine to Vogue!! And with a host of celebrities fans frequently spotted wearing their ChloBo stacks, it's no surprise how quickly the ChloBo brand has caught on to the rest of us..

The amazing success of ChloBo has also been recognised by the
Professional Jeweller Magazine; whom have just secured ChloBo a place into their Hot 100 list.. Each year the magazine’s editorial team selects 100 individuals from the UK jewellery industry, of whom they believe have shown strengths of true innovation and business drive over the past 12 months. Chloe is listed as one of their ‘NexGems’ alongside other up and coming jewellery designers... And I bet that she is thrilled!! :)

ChloBo also has an exciting new range just out called
After Dark; which is inspired by a trip Chloe made to the magical city of Istanbul.

Here Chloe explains her inspiration for the collection..

"I love the metallic trends for A/W 12 - its no secret that I'm obsessed with sequins, glitter, sparkle... What girl isn't!? With this at the forefront of my mind, Haematite and Pyrite were the perfect stones to use for this collection. I was really inspired for the theme of the range when I visited Istanbul on a ChloBo trip. By day the old town is teaming with tradesmen and traffic and the pavements are hot and dusty. As the city’s lights switch on at dusk, the place becomes a twinkling kingdom and the glitz and glam come out to play. It was whilst having dinner in a restaurant called 360, high above the rooftops with the stunning city below, that I thought of the name for this collection - After Dark!"

Here's a peak into the amazing new ChloBo After Dark collection.. This collection along with many others designed by Chloe are available to buy now at
ChloBo

Be prepared to fall in love after dark...

Alexander Wang Coming Apart At The Seams...

Alexander Wang S/S 2013...

I can't get enough of the amazing outfits at the Alexander Wang show at New York Fashion Week. So many to choose from; with a strong emphasis on clean lines - gaps in seams and strappy footwear.. I think this will be a trend to watch for Spring/Summer 2013.. Here are some of my favourite pieces but with so many to choose from, it's definitely worth viewing the whole show...

Full collection can be viewed here at Vogue
